Thanks from all us POTSies.
On 21 October 2016 Firefly Properties held a golf day at Dale Hill Golf Club in aid of POTS. The day was a tremendous success with about 80 golfers enjoying a round on a demanding course followed by a meal, auction and raffle. As a result of a tremendous effort by Chris and Carol Prier of Firefly and their daughters Kelly and Hannah approximately £5,500 was raised. A magnificent sum to be added to £3,000 last year and all donated to the Autonomic Charitable Trust which is carrying out and funding research into POTS.
Thanks from all us POTSies.
Pots Fighting Forces held its 5th annual charity day at Paddock Wood on Saturday, 16 July.
Charlton Athletic took on Tunbridge Wells with Bob Boulder, former Charlton keeper, starring in an outfield role. Despite that it was Tunbridge Wells who lifted the coveted winners trophy.
The Army were represented and various weapons were on display.
Various stalls and games together with cake and tea tent, bar and BBQ provided a pleasant afternoon.
Music was provided throughout the day by Mullac a Boo.
£3,500 was raised taking the total to approaching £17,000. This is shared equally between the Autonomic Charitable Trust and Help for Heroes.
Next year's event is scheduled for Saturday, 24 June - by attending and having fun you will support 2 great charities.
Our charity day this year is on the 1st August 2015 at Paddock Wood Memorial Ground, Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood, TN12 6EB. Gates open at 1pm and the football match begins at 2.30pm. This year we are incredibly lucky to welcome FA trophy finalists Tunbridge Wells FC and a Charlton Athletic representative side for an exhibition match.
We also have lots in store to keep the kids happy! A bouncy castle, face painting, a tug of war and characters from Frozen will appear later in the day. There will be lots of fun stalls and and things to do as well as a chance to win some great prizes in our raffle. Plus we have our BBQ and the licensed bar for the adults of course!
Why not drop by and lend your support to both Help for Heroes as well as the Autonomic Charitable Trust (ACT), a charity which researches autonomic conditions such as Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. You can have fun in the sun whilst supporting two amazing causes. It's guaranteed to be a brilliant day!
We are extremely interested in hearing everyone's experiences with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. If you would like to share your story with us, we would love to raise awareness through your own individual experiences. Take a look at our POTS STORIES to read about some of our members. If you are interested you can contact us directly through our site.
We are also interested in knowing which POTs symptoms you suffer from. If you would like to take part in our poll
Our annual POTS Fightingforces charity event will be held at the Memorial Ground in Paddock Wood, Kent on the 1st August 2015. Once again it promises to be a wonderful day of family fun with food, drink, games, stalls, raffles and the football match. All the proceeds from the day will be split between the Autonomic Charitable Trust (ACT) and Help for Heroes (H4H). We have had such amazing success over the years with this event and we are looking forward to another incredible day for people to come and enjoy themselves whilst helping two amazing causes. We will post updates over the next few months to let everyone know what they have to look forward to on the day. Keep the date free and we look forward to seeing you all there!
